Can you access LeaveWeb without a CAC? ›

To log into LeaveWeb and request leave you must link your CAC to your account.

Users must belong to a Unit in order to request leave. All leave types can be requested in advance at any time.

Annual Leave: Active duty service members earn 2.5 days of annual (chargeable) leave for each month of service, for a total of 30 days per year. Currently, service members can bank up to 60 days of leave at the end of the fiscal year.

Within LeaveWeb, Supervisors approve or deny leave requests and return from leave requests. An officer can approve leave requests for anyone, even those of higher rank. Enlisted personnel can only approve leave requests for anyone of equal or lesser rank. Civilians can approve leave requests for anyone.

Once a month, LeaveWeb pulls users leave information from the Leave Balance Listing (LBL) that is generated by the pay record. This information is displayed on the LeaveWeb Profile screen.

Leave as a benefit

To my knowledge a Flag only stops advanced or excess leave. Normal leave is a benefit (meaning it is earned as part of your compensation), not an privilege. Therefore it can only be stopped in rare cases.

The majority of service members get their final pay when they separate or not long after.

For instance, being AWOL for less than three days can result in a maximum penalty of confinement for one month and forfeiture of two-thirds pay for one month. After 30 days or more, service members face dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and a one-year confinement.

Using an Army Email

Install the necessary DoD root certificates on your Windows or Mac laptop to check your US military email account. Then, insert your Common Access Card (CAC) into the card reader. Most military users can visit https://web.mail.mil/owa to sign into their Outlook account.
