One of the most complicated organs that that people have, specifically the women, is the vagina. Dedicating a whole field of medicine to the female sex organ, there are a lot of difficulties that a woman can face. And one such difficulty is the blue waffles disease, but is blue waffles disease really true?
Women already face a number of different diseases when it comes to their vagina and ever since the talk about blue waffles disease exploded on the internet women have become increasingly concerned. According to some sources, blue waffles disease is the discoloration of the vagina. As the name of the disease would suggest, the vagina turns blue – and it is this discoloration that has got women scared.
But is there any truth behind blue waffles disease? Blue waffles disease, a disease which apparently does not have a medical name, is not proven to be true. Images that have been circulating on the web are at best a hoax. But there may be some truth behind this hoax.

Blue waffles disease – again, which is not proven to be true – may have been rooted from another condition. The hoax about blue waffles disease may have come from vaginitis which is the inflammation of the female sex organ that may result in itchiness, discharge of unpleasant fluid, and in rare cases, the discoloration of the skin to a bluish tinge.
Vaginitis is commonly caused by bacterial infection but low estrogen levels may also be a reason. In fact, known vaginal problems such as yeast infections, atrophy and so on are different types of vaginitis.
When you feel as if you are experiencing discomfort in your vaginal area, believe that your vagina is infected, or have had different sex partners you might have vaginitis. When you think that you have vaginitis see a doctor immediately so as not to worsen the problem or prolong it.
Depending on the type of vaginitis that you may have contracted you might receive a different treatment. Some treatments for some types of vaginitis involve a simple tablet you take orally, some involve topical creams that need to be applied on the problem area, while some involve a more complicated approach such as a dose of estrogen.
Whatever the case may be, whether it is blue waffles disease or vaginitis, it is always best to consult a doctor and not to just simply look at the symptoms on the internet.
